JJ8: Hong Kong's Premier Chinese 8-Ball Center
Designed and built by XLMS in early 2025, JJ8 is Hong Kong's first dedicated Chinese 8-ball centre. Located on Level 11 of TG Place, 10 Shing Yip Street, Kwun Tong, JJ8 offers a dynamic snooker lifestyle experience.
The centre features over 20 tables that blend traditional snooker with the popular Chinese 8-ball variant. Guests can enjoy a restaurant, bar LED sports viewing screens, darts, private VIP rooms, and exhibition displays of memorabilia from seven-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan.
The design strikes a balance between contemporary sleekness and playful character. A neutral palette of grey tones and steel finishes dominates the main hall, creating a clean, modern backdrop. Accents like the sculptural acoustic walls in private rooms and the vibrant blue glass light feature above the bar introduce visual interest and depth. These elements, paired with thematic artwork, subtly reinforce the venue’s identity while elevating the overall ambiance.
With approximately 50 million players worldwide, the sport is thriving, especially in China, where the number of snooker halls has surged from 34,000 in 2005 to 300,000 today.
Chinese 8-ball merges elements of 8-ball, snooker, and 9-ball, played on a 9-foot table with tight pockets and American pool balls, ensuring every match is an exhilarating challenge.
