International companies – architectural firm XLMS and multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy Cundall, have developed a new sustainable resort architecture.
The project is located on the Wenching Beachfront in Hainan. Blue sky and sea, white sand provide an unique natural setting. Over the past years, increasing number of newly-built five-star hotels in Hainan have intensified competition. Therefore it is requires each hotel to have its unique architectural and landscape character,
Instead of traditional Southeast Asian architectural style for hotels in tropical areas, the designers have creatively targeted at the unique style of modern relaxing hotel which also boasts seaside resort atmosphere. The 5 star resort consists of over 50,000sqm of gross floor area, 400 hotel rooms, spa, bars, restaurants, resort villas, banquet and convention facilities.

The striking "Wave" form has been generated with advanced BIM parametric computation. The project challenges structural engineering, implements industry leading sustainability expertise, incorporate as many WELL Building Standard™ and LEED principles as possible.
